The Glass Rooster® was founded in 2007 by Laura McLaughlin to help foster a greater awareness of our food, where it comes from and our connection to it. With ideas and a skill set that started with “this is how Grandma did it” combined with extensive research and “this is what They say,” Laura created classes that combine old styles with the latest in food safety preservation.

I have been talking up this class, ever since I took it! Hoping Santa brings me a pressure canner so I can start stocking my pantry. So much insight into both pressure and hot water canning techniques, that I would not have gained from reading a manual. Looking forward to taking more classes.

I have never canned anything, but I always wanted to learn. This class took the "mystery" out of the process while making it fun and enlightening! I went home and placed my prized quart of beans in a prominent place on the shelf and immediately started to look for a pressure canner! The instructor is friendly, down to earth, and takes the time to answer all questions. I can't wait to take another class with her.
