I love making cloth. And using it for artistic purposes. I am a passionate spinner, weaver, and dyer as well as an avid painter, and maker of many things. What I like best about textiles is the shared histories it conveys even in today's mass produced items. By learning how to spin or to weave, I feel that I am connecting myself to an entire culture of cloth producers before me that include everyone from the cotton farmer and picker to the mill worker. Today, I don't have to make cloth because I need it. I make it because I want to make it unique and representative of my own story. This is how I encourage others to approach learning how to do all of the techniques I love to share.
