Great job of explaining, demonstrating and coaching welding methods and techniques.

We learned all the different kinds of welding, necessary tools, and safety gear. The teacher demonstrated many of them. We each welded, yes actually welded, three times. Holy crap, I just did that!

Wanted to learn more about the art of welding and start my journey in the world of such. This class was exactly what I had been looking for with not only notable material to learn but also hands-on experience.

This was an intro to welding. The instructor was very knowledgeable and patient. I appreciated that he gave us a bit of history before going into instruction and demonstration. I highly recommend the class and instructor.

My husband went to this class and loved it! He found it informative and inspiring, he wants to do the intermediate next.

What a delightful day learning! The instructor was extremely knowledgable and engaging! We learned all about welding, safety and what actually happens when you weld something. Then we got to practice what we learned and weld some items together! So much fun!

The class was just what we were looking for. We got to learn about the different types of equipment and what we might need should we want to continue the hobby. A little bit of education in a little bit of practice go along way

This is an excellent introductory class. It was the perfect amount of theory to make the practice really sink in. Absolutely the best bang for you buck, and Nathan is an outstanding instructor. I highly recommend for anyone interested in welding and wanting to try it out.

Really great class! Great balance of learning the history and science behind welding, learning about the tools and materials, and having some hands on practice. Small class size ensured more time to practice for everyone!

My son and I took the welding class and we both had a blast. The instructor, Nate was amazing. It was great having a teacher who enjoys his trade, brings excitement to teaching and is able to clearly share it with others.

If you want to dabble in welding this family friendly class is the one for you. Nathan covered the history of welding, from torch to TIG, and provided excellent hands-on instruction in welding basics.

Loved it. I always wanted to find out about welding and the course perfectly fulfilled that. Nathan is a good teacher. He obviously very knowledgeable, loves his subject and wants to impart that knowledge and love to the students.

I have always wanted to learn to weld, and this was a great opportunity to understand the basics and give it a try. Nathan was very helpful and informative, the pace was great, and I feel like I now have the confidence to continue to learn this skill.

Nathan was an excellent instructor. The class was well paced, he explained the material well, and we all had a couple opportunities to liquify metal and fuse things together. I feel much better prepared to start playing with welding, and as he said at the start of class, the Youtube videos will make more sense now that he's given me the basics and some experience.

I actual got started on learning to weld.

My 1st welding class - Nathan had a solid pace of teaching, and had a good flow from topic to topic, keeping all the information connected. We covered the types of welding, equipment needed (and some brand and retailer suggestions), a bit of history of welding, and then saftey guidliness and welding technique. Finally we practiced a few different types of welds. Great teacher and great intro class that got me comfortable with welding practice and kept me interested.

Nathan was an excellent teacher! Upon waking into class, I really didn’t know anything about welding. By the end of class, I felt excited and ready to try it out. The time went by very quickly! After learning a bit of history, safety, and equipment, we got to try out two different kinds of welds. Nathan was very kind and encouraging of beginners. By the end of class, I just wanted to keep trying what we learned. We did two different kinds of welds during class. He also provided good resources for beginners trying to get into welding.
I can’t wait until he comes out with his welding 2 class and I’m looking forward to trying out his machining class! Excellent experience!!

This was an excellent introduction to the Machine Shop and it's potential. It was interesting and the teacher was knowledgeable, patient and enthusiastic. It was a good balance of listening and hands-on experience. I wish there was an advanced class for this!

Time flew by in this class! Nate is very knowledgeable, as well as very welcoming, personable, and encouraging. Its a nice small class, at most 8 people, and everyone has a chance to practice a couple of welding skills. Loved it!

Class covered the history and basics of welding with practice in both Flux core and MIG welding. Overall a great experience for someone who has no experience welding.

The instructor was fantastic! He had patience, answered questions, took the time necessary to feel like I was getting everything offered. We had a great time and can now say we Dabble in welding.

Terrific and informative class- a lot is covered in two hours. Made me completely unafraid to start practicing with my small welder at home (finally). The technique is acquired with practice- so don't expect to walk away being a good welder- but expect to walk away knowing how to become a good welder!

I've been wanting to get into welding for years, but typically you could only learn at a specific college or trade school. That is great for people who want to build careers in the trade but very difficult for hobbyists who just want to weld for fun. This was a great intelligent introduction and I can't wait to learn more!

Great overview of what one can do in a machine shop, and an enjoyable learning experience - lots of good information, techniques, et cetera. The hands-on portion was great for really solidifying the concepts discussed.

I was looking for a basic welding class for hobby that wouldn’t break the bank and this class was perfect. Nathan was informative and open to all questions. Although I didn’t weld very well during class. Since my class I have purchased a welder, using the knowledge and advice he gave me, I am now able to do some nice welds. Nathan is a good teacher and I may schedule some other classes he offers. Well worth the money.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much Nathan packed into a 2 hour course. The background and historical info was interesting and pertains to what you do in the class. The hands on section is short but you actually get to weld with flux core and MIG processes. Nathan is an excellent teacher. Well worth the 2 hours.

Great 2-hour intro to welding which included History and Types of Welding; Tools, Equipment and Safety items needed; Local stores to purchase welding and metal supplies. Nathan is well organized, packs a lot if info into two hours... all seven of us students were able to try our hand at welding. If you have ever wondered about learning welding but did not know where to start, this is the intro class for you. ENJOY!

The Machine Shop Basics class was so informative and fun, all thanks to the great instructor Nathan.

Nathan was very organized, on point and was wonderful at explaining the different roles of the machines and how they work together. Hands-on is what I was looking for and Nathan did not disappoint, as I fabricated from aluminum bar a die (half of a pair of dice). By using the dice tutorial we were able to use hand tools, CNC and have something to take home.

Be sure not to miss this class as you will look at your surroundings completely different after Nathan schools you in Machine Shop Basics.

The instructor was very enthusiastic about welding and I felt like his knowledge of metals and gases was beyond my comprehension. The class itself was informative and fun. I wish there was a class that expanded on this one but the instructor also teaches a machining course that I'm looking forward to.

I participated in a private event for a birthday party. The instructor was great at being patient with our large group and allowed us all to take an appropriate amount of time practicing the new techniques. He made us all feel comfortable and safe using the equipment. It sparked an interest in learning more about welding for fun!

Awesome class and intro to welding! For a 2 hour class, it was very informative and I can't wait to dive deeper into welding. Definitely gained a lot of respect for the art! My only critique is that it would be great if there were some follow up classes to practice technique some more.

I came in with very little knowledge of welding, I didn't have much Hands-On, I couldn't weld didn't even know how to tack weld, and I'm now wanting to pursue deepening my knowledge with welding!

This class was so fun! We started out with a very interesting lesson on welding basics, went over tools and where to shop for supplies. We then moved into practicing welds. Nathan was an amazing instructor- he is kind and funny and he kept the momentum going throughout the class. Highly recommend :)

Class was informative and fast paced. I learned some history, tools, and actually how to weld. I can now make metal stick together. It's just not very pretty yet. Would suggest this class for someone that hasn't done any welding and wants the basics.

Real good class. Well run and very informative difference between welders and at least know the basics. With practice I can now weld mild steel for simple projects or repairs. Not bad for a two hour class. The instructor is a super nice guy and knows his stuff. Lots of energy.

This was a great starting class. I just purchased a welder and was intimidated to start to use it. This class reviewed basic safety and how to do basic welds. The instructor, Nathan, was patient and informative. Everyone got to try and do a couple of practice welds. It was fun. I feel much more confident giving my welder a try at home now.

Nathan was very well informed and walked us through the history of welding with the occasional lesson in plasma dynamics thrown in for good measure. I really appreciated the time he took to make sure all of our questions were answered, and it was a blast to get to do my first lap joint weld! Thanks!

Nathan is really good at what he does. This was an amazing class, super informational and fast paced, with a large hands on component. Seriously, tons of info almost like drinking from the fire hose, but always on point and related to what was happening in the class at the moment. Nathan really knows a lot and is good at conveying it.

Great class to de-mystify welding and get a change to actually do a little welding yourself. First hour is informational which helps sets the stage for giving a try yourself in the second hour. It was a great value, and I would highly recommend it!

Fantastic! I took the class with my 16 year old son and it couldn't have been better. Just enough information to get an understanding of the different types of welding, and associated equipment, followed by hands on practice. We loved it!

This was a pretty good class. It is mostly lecture, so be prepared for that. But the information was interesting and informative. You do get to try welding at the end of class, which was fun. A good overview if you know nothing about welding.

I was very happy I took this class, having never even seen someone weld, by end of class I was confident that I could do some (although not pretty) basic welding. Very relaxed atmosphere, instructor was patient and gave positive encouragement.

Great class😀

This course provided a great comprehensive overview of welding basics by someone who regularly applies that knowledge in their work. Despite being a single evening class, it was thorough enough to instill a confidence level such that I now carry a comfort level to safely pursue home projects in the true DIY manner.

As a person who teaches adults for a living I was probably overly critical of the style of teaching. I felt like too much time was spent talking and not enough time doing. Especially since a lot of the talking was referring to concepts with which the listener was assumed to be familiar. If you want to start at the beginning like the listener knows nothing (which most didn't) then you should also define all the terms to are introducing. This was especially unfortunate since Nick really excelled at the part where he was coaching each user through an actual weld. He was excellent at telling the student what was and wasn't working while they were doing it so they could correct it right away. A shorter synopsis of the type of welding we were going to do, and the other types that exist and then get people to practice would be awesome. All said I think people like the class but the class in it's current format doesn't highlight Nick's strengths in my opinion.
