My family has a history of heart disease and cancer, and I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic in 2001. So by working for food and drug manufacturers over the years, I've learned how to further decode product labels with those quirky words that often turn out to be added sugars or rumored cancer-causing agents. Plus, by working as a marketing rep here in Savannah, I've been behind the scenes at almost all of the local grocery stores. There's definitely a reason why I only shop at selected stores!
