This was a very fun class. A lot of information in a short time so I may take it again once I buy a DSLR camera. He took us to a park and showed us the different shutter and aperture settings. And then we practiced and he gave us pointers on improving our pictures. A great learning experience and he was a great (and patient) teacher. Highly recommend!

This is a great class for beginners or people looking for a refresher on DSLR basics. It is practical and straightforward and you will leave feeling more confident on how to use your camera to take better photographs. The instructor creates a relaxed atmosphere where people are encouraged to ask questions.

Ovi was a great teacher! I am a beginner just starting to dabble in photography and Ovi made my new camera extremely less intimidating. He engaged the class and asked us several questions which helped the learning process immensely. I thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon class learning about my camera and photography in general. I would highly recommend this class to anyone.

This class is amazing for anyone who has been using a DSLR in auto mode for a while and wants to step up their game. Within the first ten minutes of the lesson I knew I was getting my money's worth, and by the end of the class I felt actually competent with my DSLR. Ovi is a patient, knowledgeable teacher and is great at simplifying the capabilities and mechanics of a complex device.

Great refresher course for someone who has returned to photography, after years of resorting to the cell phone. Also great for the beginner who has a DSLR, but couldn't bear the manuals and books. Ovi does a good job of sensing the levels and objectives of the students in order to educate everyone. Very small class size helps keep the knowledge transfer targeted for the group. I would take any class taught by Ovi.

Great class! The hands-on, walking tour approach definitely helped me learn (and remember) the basic/key elements of operating a DSLR camera. Ovi was very knowledgeable, attentive and patient and he explained the camera functions clearly and effectively! He began by asking what we expected from the class and constantly encouraged questions. He made sure we were all on board before moving on to the next topic. Granted we lucked out on a perfect and sunny Fall afternoon, I'm certain that the class would have been just as useful in any weather condition. The small class size allowed for individual attention at various times throughout the class, which was a plus! I highly recommend this class to anyone who is looking to utilize more than just the automatic functions of their camera.

Ovi is a fantastic photography teacher and matched the information he provided with our current camera knowledge. Rather than sitting in a classroom, he took us to the Lakeshore East park where we had an immediate opportunity to test out our skills right after we learned them. Ovi covered the basics of how to use a DSLR camera as well as some tips and tricks that we hadn't learned before. I would definitely recommend taking this class if you're interested in DSLR photography and can dedicate a couple hours.

Great class and great teacher!

The class and the instructor were great. Ovi really took the time to help us understand our cameras and exactly how to use them. He was definitely able to answer our specific questions and showed us how to do creative tricks with our cameras as well. I have a much better understanding of how cameras/ light works. I would definitely recommend taking this class for any one who has interest in photography. Any starting level is ok and you will leave feeling like an expert! i will be looking out for the next class by this group for sure.

Ovi was a good teacher. We moved locations based on the crowds at Millennium Park to a small park a bit to the North. I appreciated that he was flexible enough to make this change and it made for a much better class! He also was very open to questions and so the group was able to benefit from specific concerns. If you have an informal style this class is perfect for you. He would teach us something about our cameras and then we would get to try it right then and there. If you are more of a formal learner and like a lot of structure, you should probably look elsewhere for a class.

Very fun & educational hands on class! I loved being able to practice outside in a beautiful park setting instead of in a classroom. Ovi was a friendly & informative teacher. I now finally know how to use some of the basic functions of my camera & am looking forward to practicing what I've learned. I would definitely recommend taking a class with Ovi, and I wouldn't hesitate to take another course with him.

Ovi was knowledgeable and helped us understand shutter speed, aperture and ISO. We also played around with taking shots of moving cars. He keeps the class size small, which means you get help when you need it. He also provided tips on equipment to buy.

Ovi is amazing. So much content in such a compressed amount of time but he did a great job. Very organized and a well structured session. I originally reached out to Ovi for suggestions on buying a new camera as I had no clue. He sent so much great information and provided so much input. He asked for nothing in return, only saying "I'm more than happy to help". Everyone needs to go out and buy a camera and get a hold of Ovi for a class, whether it's through Dabble or not. This guy is amazing.

Ovi was a good teacher and had a good balance of instruction and hands on practice. I wanted the most basic intro to the functions of my camera so that it was enough to learn but not too much that I couldn't retain and use the information, which made this class perfect. I learned new tricks and functions that I can practice before getting too complicated.

Ovi was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The class was exactly what I was looking for - a good overview of the fundamentals of my DSLR. Length of the class was also perfect - not too long, but long enough to cover everything.

Ovi's class was very helpful. I bought my first DSLR thanks to the guidance I received through his ThatChicago facebook page! Afterwards, I signed up for an introductory class on how to use my new DSLR.

The group met in Millennium Park and Ovi started off the lesson by reviewing the body of the camera and what every mode and button does. After reviewing some basic terminology, we walked around Millennium Park looking for photo opportunities while Ovi continued to talk about different photography methods and techniques.

Ovi is very thorough and answered all our questions throughout the lesson. Any questions who couldn't answer regarding camera settings, he followed up on via email after the class was over. Overall, the lesson felt very laid back and allowed you to experiment on your own as you listened in and explored Millennium Park.

It seems that he offers a variety of classes, but definitely recommended for anyone just getting into photography.
