I had never practiced Mindfulness or Meditation before, so naturally, I was a little nervous. However, upon arriving, Serena was awesome about assuring me I did not need to have a background in Mindfulness or Meditation, and made me feel super comfortable. It also helped that I was the only person there for the class, though I am unsure if it is always one-on-one or just depends how many people show up. Regardless, the room isn't huge so I'd assume class sizes are kept quite small. Serena took the time to understand my personal reasons for wanting to start Mindfulness/Meditation and then talked to me about how best to use our class time to address those reasons. She also took time to tell me about the background of Meditation, which was interesting and helpful. Additionally, Serena helped me find ways to stay comfortable during meditation, as my initial struggle to fully relax came from different body sensations such as lower back pain or my foot falling asleep. By the end, I felt comfortable knowing I'd be able to practice on my own. I will definitely be returning, though, as Serena promised she'd help me try other methods if I'd like. I 100% recommend this class to anyone wanting to take the first step into Mindfulness and/or Meditation!

The class covered methods to manage stress, and how they can be applied to everyday life. She also provided some in-class exercises to elicit personal characteristics we should be mindful of when dealing with stress. The class provided some great tools to manage stress, and pointed out stress isn't "all bad".

This class was very informative as it provided key principles for practicing a wide range of meditation techniques. Dr. Wadhwa is a very knowledgeable and personable therapist. She made us all feel very comfortable as she guided us through several meditation techniques with her hypnotizing voice. I would definitely recommend this class to anyone who is interested in learning more about mindfulness and meditation.
