I was very hesitant to take this class because I have no experience with improv, but I'm glad I went! The teacher did a great job of welcoming us into the class and calming our nerves. It took me some time to feel comfortable with it, but by the end I was having fun and actually enjoying myself. I'm now considering taking a longer class with IO. Thanks!

This was my first time taking an improv class and I couldn't imagine having had a better experience. Sheila was the perfect teacher because she was extremely encouraging, respectful, and just a really good at making me feel comfortable exploring a skill that is somewhat intimidating. Sheila was also very good at adapting to the needs of my class-- she tried new things and offered specific suggestions to each participant.
Also, the class is significantly influenced by the other people that have signed up for it. I was very lucky to have a very open and outgoing partner throughout the whole workshop. I highly recommend this to anyone-- if nothing else, it gives you more confidence in yourself if you are willing to explore it with an open mind.

Fun class. The instructor created a very safe environment for us to feel free to as creative as we could be. Our group enjoyed the night a lot.

Sheila made improv fun and approachable. She really paid attention to how we were responding to each improv exercise to see what we were most comfortable with and she modified her plan based on that. She also gave us individual feedback about what we did well and let us know if we wanted to continue improv which improv centers would be ideal to bring out our best. This was great because I know it was easy for me to focus on what I was doing wrong. Overall, the class was totally fun & and a great dabble experience! I went with a friend but loved that many people came alone, and this is a great class where you can do that comfortably.

This was a great night! Sheila was so welcoming and fun. She helped us all feel comfortable, and helped us push ourselves. We laughed a lot, learned some new party tricks, and connected as a group. A fantastic 2 hours!

Sheila was prepared & passionate. She has improv experience all over the city & pulls the best parts of her own experiences into her dabble class. You jump right into improv exercises & learn through actually *doing* instead of note-taking. Sheila makes it a safe place to be silly and provides encouragement, role modeling, and helpful feedback. I was nervous before class, but immediately was put at ease by Sheila's vibe & teaching methods. The class sparked my creativity & playfulness and was a fun time. Thanks Sheila.

Very good intro class to improv. really had a lot of fun meeting new people. learned a lot about interaction-and how phrasing either stops or moves conversation. Improv isn't about being funny. Shelia really understands the craft and can help you make it a part of your basic life.

I am a professional with no stage experience. Sheila got us moving and laughing, surprise ourselves and get a taste of what an improv class would look like. She is engaging, attentive, and perceptive, giving us pointers to which theater and instructor would suit each of us. The group of strangers quickly turned into girls I would have loved to have wine afterwards. Being silly is so much fun.

This class was so fun and high energy, but still a gentle introduction to improvisation. If you're thinking about taking this class DO IT! Don't be skurred!

I had a great time in the Improv Workshop class. At first I was nervous that 3 hours was going to be a long time but we played a lot of challenging but fun games and I learned a lot. I am now considering taking more improv classes. The group size was nice and small so we got plenty of individual attention and feedback. I left the class feeling energized. I highly recommend it! Sheila was great and a lot of fun.
