The Green Suite

If MacGyver and Captain Planet had a love child, it would be Nick Conrad.

Since its inception in 2010, The Green Suite has been the vehicle through which Nick Conrad has shared his DIY approach to sustainability with the Midwest. After appearances at numerous libraries, festivals and corporate events in the Chicagoland area, Nick has decided to take The Green Suite on the road, and expand his audience. Over the next few months, Nick will convert an 85-square foot cargo van to a DIY tiny house. Spanning from Texas to California, The Green Van Project will become the literal vehicle bringing NIck's eco-education to the masses, with his trademark charm and wit. His engaging, hands-on presentations on hydroponic window farming, solar energy and zombie survival have attracted the attention of many intrigued Chicagoans, and have brought him to TV and radio on WCIU's You & Me This Morning and WGN, and coverage in publications such as the Chicago Red Eye, the Chicago Tribune and the Chicago Sun-Times.

This class was a lot of fun! Nick was very energetic and had a lot of great information to give. His presentation was really good with a full slideshow (which he gives to attendees after the class is over), music, demos and props (including a baseball bat with a saw blade nailed on the end!). The location was great as it was a private room at a bar, so people got drinks or food and it was a nice chance to socialize and meet new people. It was mostly lecture format, but with the intimate setting people were encouraged to answer and ask questions as well. The information was practical no matter who you are or where you're starting out in disaster preparedness. Definitely recommend this as a fun, informative and useful night out.
