You've got a blog with a clean background, a dazzling header and a b-e-a-utiful profile picture sitting daintily in the corner. You've got your concept down pat and an audience ready-and-waiting to hear what you have to say. You're pretty sure the ideas you're sitting on are the best things to ever happen to this side of the computer screen. But the question, now, is how to beat that blinking cursor and usher your content across the finish line of the 'publish' button.
Cultivating a unique writing style is as critical to the success of a blog as having user-friendly formatting and great content. Ideally, your readers will subscribe to you as a person and learn to trust what you have to say. This Dabble class is all about how to define your online persona and create your blogging style, tone and voice.
Students will learn exercises for discovering their blogging style, and will receive instruction on how to develop consistency and clarity throughout their blog. We will also address some common do's and don't of writing, specifically as they relate to blog posts. This is a great follow-up class to Intro to WordPress or Blogging Basics, but even if you haven't taken these beginner steps, you can still expect to learn a lot about making yourself a better writer.
