Event Overview

Join Power Up Tech Academy for fun and flexible Day Off Tech Camps for computer-savvy kids!

Learning to code is a fun, hands-on way to start kids understanding how computers work and how apps are made.

Kids will be divided up by age and experience level.

Grade K-2 will learn to make stories and animations in ScratchJr, an iPad coding app, while learning computer science concepts like algorithms, sequences and loops.

Grades 2-6 will make video games in Scratch, a web-based app which allows kids to learn to code and create using drag and drop blocks. By the end of the morning, kids will have created a real working game, customized with their own ideas, that they can play or show to their friends.

Returning coders will be given more advanced projects, while beginners will start with the basics.

Coding builds awesome thinking skills - logic, planning, problem solving and more. It's also really creative and fun, since each child can customize the project in any way they can imagine!

Our son Noah had a great time. He learned to code/program a robot and also came home with a few iPad app/games to continue his learning.
