Contemporary Fusion: An expressive and improvisational dance form of organic body movement which could utilize elements with gravity: contract and release, distill and proximal, flow and bound movement.
We thrive to strengthen the body as well as produce endurance and find alignment and stamina. Each Student has a different way of learning and we want you to feel confident while finding challenging ways to absorb movement vocabulary and relinquish your creativity. "INTEGRATION OF INDIVIDUALITY"
In our classes, we take the modern dance form and Fuse with other styles and forms such as African dance or Vogue aesthetics, allowing your body to release through the spine and connective joints throughout your body, feeling the Earths rhythm. MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST
Tajh Stallworth attended Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI where he furthered his training in Ballet, Modern and Jazz dance. While at WMU, Tajh had the opportunity to work with artists such as Willy Shives, Autumn Eckman, Lauren Edson, Nelly Von Bommel, Arturo Fernandez and Jason McDole. Under the Great Works Project, he was able to perform works by choreographers such as Alonzo King, Gerald Arpino and David Parsons and alongside Danceworks Chicago and Hip Hop ConnXion.
In 2012 he was awarded the Ramon Zupko Collaborative Arts Grant which allowed him to explore a collaborative composition process which allowed him to work with a plethora of local Kalamazoo artists. In 2012 Tajh began a pioneering teacher at the Mosaic Hall and Dance Center in Portage, MI where he taught Ballet, Modern, Contemporary, Musical Theater to a wide variety of students ranging in ages 4 to 70 years old. Since then he has taught a studios all over the Michigan and Illinois area. He has recently moved to Chicago to further pursue a career as a professional dancer, choreographer. and teacher. Recently he has worked with Inaside Dance Chicago, Ballet 5:8, Project Bound, Jessica Deahr, Harrison McEldowney, Shirley Mordine, JaysonTisa Dance, has been on scholarship at the Visceral Dance Center and has joined The Seldoms as of October 2015!
