Event Overview

This is a 2-day second level shoemaking workshop where you will learn to make a more advanced style shoe. The style of the shoe is called a Derby and can be made in a men’s or women’s shoe shape.

We will brush up on techniques learned in my previous shoemaking course as well as learn new skills. My level 1 shoemaking class is a prerequisite unless you already have experience in hand lasting shoes. Please email me before signing up if you are unsure.

You will learn how to size your own feet, choose from high-quality materials, and use traditional shoemaking techniques to create your very own pair. The first day we will focus on leather sewing techniques to stitch your upper material together. The second day we will focus on lasting, which is slightly different for this style because it involves multiple layers.

All glues used in my studio are NON TOXIC and leathers are ethically sourced. If you would like to use vegan leathers, please indicate so at checkout or via email and I will send you a separate invoice of $50 to cover the cost of materials.

Duration: Saturday & Sunday, 11am-6pm extra time if needed until 7pm

Shoe Style: Derby pictured in both men and women’s styles

If you enjoy this course so much that you want to continue your studies in a more advanced way, please reach out to schedule a custom workshop.
