Floral Design for Beginners!

Do you like pretty things? Do you like fun people? Do you like being inside a ridiculously adorable space for an hour or two, and playing with flowers while sipping on mimosas and eating the world's best brownies?
Then come on in, the water's fine!
My floral design workshop at my cute lil' shop called Forget Me Knodt will be awesome. We're going to give you a simple, super fun lesson on the fundamentals of putting flowers inside things, and we'll give you your choice of containers: either a quart-sized Ball mason jar, or a footed metal compote. We'll be using lots of bright, in-season local flowers in a variety of shapes and sizes so you can really stretch your wings. Think anemones, dahlias, ranunculus, garden roses and spray roses, and all kinds of wildflowers, too. Less modern, more whimsical.
The workshop will probably take about an hour to an hour and a half, and I'll have bubbly, orange juice and brownies from my neighbors at Baker & Nosh. They will blow your mind! I also have a fantastic sound system if you've got an iPod. Let's make this party a party!
All ages welcome

Janessa Knodt is the owner of Forget Me Knodt, a floral dream that began in California back in 1952 with her grandparents Auggie and Dorie, and lives on here in Chicago today!
She moved to Chicago from California about ten years ago to pursue a career as a writer, but couldn't shake her love for flowers. So in 2011 she quit the 9 to 5 and went into business for herself, doing flowers for weddings and events.
Janessa just opened her storefront flower shop's doors in April of this year, and business in blooming like mad. She can't wait to share her passion and skills with all of you!
The flowers that we were given were beyond beautiful and the attention to detail (rose petals on the sidewalk as we walked in, a floral crown for the birthday girl) made our Sunday afternoon awesome!
