Ever wish you knew how to dance a Jig on St. Patrick's Day? With this class, you'll learn all the basics of Irish dancing, so you can bust a move and impress your friends! Taught by championship level dancers, you'll get all the personal attention you'll need to start your Irish dance career off on the right foot.
In this class, you'll learn beginner steps of the Jig and Reel, the proper form and placement of feet as well as musical timing for Jig and Reel music.
Just wear comfortable clothes and socks. If you have ballet slippers, bring those, too! Also, pulling hair off of your face is recommended.
All ages welcome
No experience required! Just eager participants.
Cancellation Policy
Identity Irish Dance Company is a championship level performance group originating from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. The group was founded in 2006 by Chicago area dancers from schools like O'Hare, Trinity, World Academy, Mulhern, Dennehy and more. Over the past 6 years, Identity has made a name in Chicago and Champaign through various performances, including on stage appearances with the Dropkick Murphys, features on Channel 7 News, and halftime shows during U of I basketball games. The group now has two chapters, one at U of I, and a Chicago crew headed by founding members.
