Event Overview
Do you have a wedding or party coming up or just a room in your home that needs some decor to spruce it up and make it stand out? Well then, this class is for you! In this class you will learn how to make your very own marquee sign using low cost materials.
We will begin the class with a step-by-step guide on how to properly stencil, cut (using an X-acto knife), construct, and hang a finished product. All materials will be provided and students will be able to choose from either gold, silver, or red to spray paint their sign. This class is a hands-on, do it yourself lesson in which students will be able to make and take home their very own arrow marquee sign, which measures 12 inches wide and 31.5 inches long.
By learning the process of how to make a marquee sign, it is our hope that you take this knowledge and share it with your friends and continue to make more marquee signs in the future!
We use Adobe Illustrator to make our marquee sign templates. In order for you to make your own templates for other shapes and letters after taking this class, we will provide you with a basic marquee sign template file that you can use at home.
What to Bring
Just yourself (and maybe a friend)! All materials will be provided in the class. This class can get a little messy so please dress appropriately.

What's Provided
You will leave class with a syllabus and Arrow Marquee Sign (created by you!) made out of foam board, chipboard, and clear globe lights. Additional materials and tools will be provided for use during the class.

Combining Jaclyn's teaching experience, Sher's knowledge and expertise in design, and Kim's love for all crafts and hands on projects, this cadre of women is here to conquer the DIY world!

Megan E.Reviewed on 08/31/14The DIY Arrow Marquee Sign class was a blast! The teachers did an excellent job clearly explaining the steps of sign construction and providing support when needed. The Eriewood Collective teachers are all very friendly and fun, while also being super organized and informative! All materials needed were nicely prepared and organized for the students, making the construction process seamless. It was fun to see how students decided to personalize their marquee signs with different colors. After the class, a bonus was receiving an email with templates to create marquee signs in the future of various shapes. The sign looks awesome in my apartment! Very glad to have taken this class, and definitely recommend it to others!

I had a wonderful, fun time learning how to make the Marquee sign! The huge bonuses about this class are:
1. The teachers did a ton of prep work for us which helped the project take less time.
2. The teachers did not rush us even when some tasks took longer than expected and the class went long.
3. They provided all of the supplies! This alone made the price reasonable to me.
4. They provided an Illustrator template file to us after the class so we could make more of these on our own! Thanks, ladies!I had a wonderful, fun time learning how to make the Marquee sign! The huge bonuses about this class are:

This class was a blast, I would totally recommend it! I went to the class solo and was greeted by the 3 most friendly and comfortable instructors! The materials, step by step instruction and location were perfect!!!!! If you are looking for something fun & random to do, this is it!

I had always wanted a unique fixture in my apartment and when I heard about this class, I knew the marquee sign was something to make place pop. This was my first DIY class, so I had no idea what to expect and I couldn't have been more pleased with the results. The teachers were really helpful and I'm glad I finally learned how to work an xacto knife. Not only did I get to bring home a really cool light fixture (that I made myself!) but they included a really cute garland too. Overall this class was really great and many of my friends are eager to see if they'll be another. Also, the complementary coffee was great touch, we all need that after a late night out ;)

I came with the hopes of having a good time while making art and this class exceeded my expectations! Not only did I have a great time, the instructors were helpful, good music, nice snacks, but I love the sign I made. Excited to find a place for it at my apartment as a unique additional lighting source.

The DIY Arrow Marquee Sign class was phenomenal! It was much more labor-intensive than I expected (ok, maybe I'm just a weakling) but very gratifying. I've already gotten tons of compliments from friends who now want to make their own! The teachers were wonderful -- they even provided snacks and a nice soundtrack while we worked. And we left with a beautiful little instructional booklet that shows us how to make more signs at home. The best part? Everyone got these *adorable* handmade paper garlands tucked into our booklets. I highly recommend this class and would definitely take another one with Eriewood Collective in the future.
