Event Overview
What does it mean to you to 'connect with nature'? How can we connect with something, if we are already a part of it?
In the second part of this two week program, we will continue to experience nature as we experiment with our awareness. We will start by reviewing the introductory meditation practice we learned at the end of the first class, where we focus our awareness on our breath. We can begin to discern and experience our own capacity for awareness first hand. We don't always need to focus on the breath in meditation.
In this class, we will explore what we experience when we systematically vary our focus of awareness from the breath, to the body (including chair yoga again), to the senses. Then we will shift to a more open awareness while we 'aimlessly' walk in nature. We will pull it all together by doing some journaling and have a brief discussion to close.
Please join us for a chance to meditate and do chair yoga together in a beautiful, natural setting.
Some notes:
- There is a first part to this class, and you will get the most out of it by signing up for both classes (not required). Sign up here.
- Between PART I & II, you will receive some brief readings, some questions for contemplation, and some instructions on ways to think and write about these.
- Class will meet at the bison statue in front of the museum.
- Registration will close three days prior to class.
RAIN-DATE: If raining at about 12:30 PM (day of class), we will cancel and postpone one week.
