Event Overview

Reflexology is based on the premise that every part of the body, inside and out, has a spot on the feet, hands and ears. With a specific thumb and finger pressure technique, the goal of reflexology is to trigger the return to homeostasis (a state of equilibrium and balance).

Through this hands-on class, participants will learn the basics of reflexology and protocols for the following specific issues:
-Reproductive health
-Knee, thigh, hip issues
-Low back issues
-Depression

We encourage participants to wear comfortable clothing and invite a friend to sign up as well, since they will be working in pairs.

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST

Sarah Preusker is a board certified reflexologist, and also certified in the science of reflexology. She has been a reflexologist since 2001. She began her career working at Angel Feet in Greenwich Village, New York and seeing clients in their homes or offices. In 2008, Sarah became the Lead Reflexologist for a NIH clinical study entitled “An Intervention for Advanced Breast Cancer” at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Since then, a second grant is underway for further research with Sarah as the Lead Reflexologist for the study. While Sarah resides in Chicago, she continues to travel to provide reflexology for her clients in New York every six weeks. As said by Sarah, reflexology assists the body’s ability to heal itself by creating impulses that communicate with the brain, which is deeply relaxing and causes a positive effect.
