Event Overview

In this class, participants will learn the basics of reflexology and specific protocols for treating neck and back pain, insomnia and allergies. (Another reflexology class taught by the same teacher focuses on headaches, digestion, and allergies. Find it here!) The class will be primarily hands-on, enabling you to work with your partner using the various reflexology techniques that will be covered.

Reflexology is based on the premise that every part of the body, inside and out, has a spot on the feet, hands and ears. With a specific thumb and finger pressure technique, the goal of reflexology is to trigger the return to homeostasis, a state of equilibrium and balance.

Sign up with a friend or family member, as everyone will apply their newly learned reflexology techniques on a partner! It is okay to come alone as well!

Note: It is not necessary to have taken a reflexology class prior to this one!

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST

Sarah Preusker is a board certified reflexologist, and also certified in the science of reflexology. She has been a reflexologist since 2001. She began her career working at Angel Feet in Greenwich Village, New York and seeing clients in their homes or offices. In 2008, Sarah became the Lead Reflexologist for a NIH clinical study entitled “An Intervention for Advanced Breast Cancer” at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Since then, a second grant is underway for further research with Sarah as the Lead Reflexologist for the study. While Sarah resides in Chicago, she continues to travel to provide reflexology for her clients in New York every six weeks. As said by Sarah, reflexology assists the body’s ability to heal itself by creating impulses that communicate with the brain, which is deeply relaxing and causes a positive effect.
