Event Overview

Screen printing is a fun and approachable way for people of any age or skill level to print their designs on to paper and textiles. It’s used to make multiples of illustrations and designs through a process of layering colors on top of one another, whether it’s on a gig poster or a t-shirt.

Throughout the afternoon, we will talk best practices for designing screen printed posters and t-shirts, covering the process by which the screens are prepped, and then we’ll get to the fun part — the printing! I will provide the design, and we'll print 2-color posters and a 1 color t-shirt inspired by the heat and all things summer.

Tyler delivered an amazing afternoon. He was equal parts knowledgable, approachable and helpful. While some of the terms and techniques fly over a beginner's head at first, he helps you get the hang of it by doing and in no time you even kind of sound like you know what you're talking about. By the end, it became less of a class of being talked at and more of a collaborative printmaking session. So cool. Oh and his dog Rufus is great.

This was a perfect intro level class that is tailored for people of all experiences and concentrations in life and in art. I'm a photographer with no prior graphic or screen printing experience and felt very comfortable. Tyler is such an awesome guy, extremely knowledgable in this craft and his portfolio shows it. He has a calm, cool, collected way of teaching and speaks to you on the same level (rather than talking down). His apprentice, Cooper, joined us as well and got to share his body of work and his experiences with Tyler at IdiotPull. This class was really excellent and I loved the fact that it was a small, intimate, one-on-one class. I will definitely be back to Tyler's studio if he offers a multi colored screen printing class!

Tyler was awesome, taking the alas step-by-step through the process of screen printing. His printed samples and supporting art development materials were both relevant and exemplary. I'm an experienced printmaker and I took the class primarily to have a studio space to get some ink under my nails. I took away not only a new creation, but some new techiques and a sense of community.

My girlfriend and I were looking for an in depth screen printing intro. Tyler was a great teacher. He walked us through the entire process and we got to get our hands dirty. I came away with a great understanding of the process and lots of valuable information and resources. Also he offered us free coffee, fed us pizza and has a really cool dog. Such a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
