Event Overview

Love something that you bought but it doesn't fit the way you want? Our alteration workshop will give you the confidence to alter your own clothes to fit the way you want.


In this 3 HOUR WORKSHOP, with a combination of demonstrations and sample sewing, you will learn variety of techniques from replacing a button to how to give your garment a professional finish after getting them to your desired length.


This class is an advance class. It is more technical in order to increase your comfort with sewing machine. It is suitable for students who have already done beginner sewing class or equivalent.


Prerequisite: New To Sewing or equivalent


 


In this 3 HOUR WORKSHOP we'll cover:



  1. How to hem jeans

  2. Blind hem dress pants

  3. Shaping shirts/dresses

  4. Replace buttons

  5. Sewing tips and tricks for future projects


At the end of the workshop you’ll learn:



  1. Basic understanding of alterations

  2. How to prepare your garments before making modifications

  3. Various altering techniques

  4. Button sewing techniques


WHAT WILL BE PROVIDED:



  1. A sewing machine or if you want to bring yours (please let me know in advance so I can leave the spot for your machine)

  2. All the sewing and cutting tools needed to use

  3. Cutting tables, iron and iron board

  4. Scrap fabrics for practice


 MATERIALS TO BRING (optional)


Your sewing machine if you wish to use to practice
