"This song?! This song made the top 40? Did a child write this? My five year old could write better lyrics!"
Anyone with an FM radio connection and a morning commute to work may look at us in disbelief that we just penned a piece of their daily inner monologue onto paper. We're fed up with hearing the same seven songs on the radio on repeat, and sometimes it makes us so angry that we consider becoming professional songwriters and launching our own music careers to show them how it's done.
This Dabble class aims to help us fulfill that dream, by providing tools, tips and tricks that take the guess work out of composing and arranging songs for beginning songwriters. We'll learn which chords to use in order to stay within key, why these chords work well together and how to combine them into a melody with chord progression and more.
Then learn the basic rules of thumb for generating lyrics to go with your new musical compositions, and get a change to explore different alternatives for composing your thoughts into songs.
Come with a basic working knowledge of musical chords, and leave one step closer to freeing us all of the monotony of The Billboard's Top 40!
