Event Overview
Stretch Chi is dedicated to the practice of the Ki-Hara Method of Resistance Stretching. They are one of the premier Ki-Hara training facilities in the Midwest and beyond. At Stretch Chi, we specialize in flexibility training for injury recovery, treating chronic pain and sports performance.
In a 3 hour workshop, we cover the principles of Ki-Hara and thoroughly cover form and function for the beginning series of self-stretches. Some mashing and assisted stretching techniques will be added throughout class. Workshops are geared towards learning the stretches and methods so that you can do them at home with an understanding of why and how the Ki-Hara System works.
In a workshop you will learn tools to help:
Increase flexibility
Reduce the risk of sports injury
Increase strength
Decrease recovery time from sports practice
Increase muscle tone
Reduce back pain, shoulder pain and neck pain
Learn an efficient workout for the entire body
Learn tools to improve posture through muscle balancing
You will be able to take what you learn and continue to work on it on your own time to experience the lasting benefits of resistance stretching. Appropriate for people of all ages and abilities. Ki-Hara workshops are approved for .3 NASM CEUs (Continuing Education Units).

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST
Founder of Stretch Chi. Carrie received her training in Ki-Hara Resistance Stretching from Anne Tierney, Steve Sierra; Dynamic Contraction Technique from Nic Bartolotta and Jim Rooney; the Meridian Flexibility System from Bob Cooley and Thai Yoga from Jairo Cardona and Dennis Stoval. Carrie is a classically trained pianist and found that Ki-Hara not only relieved tension from long hours of practicing, but also helped balance and strengthen her body, mind and spirit. Her work as a Ki-Hara Instructor has lead to feature articles in the Chicago Tribune and Time Out Chicago.
