We'll cover basic traditional stitches and experiment with some improvisational techniques. Materials and iced-tea will be provided. ($5 Materials fee included - you'll get to take your work-in-progress with you at the end of the class. Hot tea, small tasty snacks and good conversation are on the house.)

Satin stitch

…and more!

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST

Nora Renick Rinehart's passion for embroidery started at a young age when her mother first purchased her a Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes embroidery pattern kit. Enthralled by the dazzling arrays of colored threads available, she spent most of those first years just organizing her thread box into rainbow order. Eventually, however, the actual stitching techniques also took hold of her interest.

This was my first Dabble class and I truly enjoyed myself. Nora is a terrific, enthusiast instructor and a talented artist. I would definitely take another course with her!

Nora is a great teacher and host! Everyone should take a class from her. We learned some history and lingo, and tons of stitches, while sipping tea and eating scones. Perfect for a snowy Saturday afternoon!

LOVED this class! Nora is a great teacher -- everything seemed so easy. And it is wonderful to sit in her beautiful apartment/textile studio sipping tea, watching the snow fall and making fiber art. I went in knowing next to nothing about embroidery and left feeling like I could dive right and make anything I wanted to. It's a really great way to spend an afternoon.

Heads up if you're taking this class in the winter (indoor version) and have a severe cat allergy: there is a cat on the premises.
