Event Overview
There is no denying that since its inception in the mid 90’s, JavaScript has become one of the most popular Web development languages. Much of this derives from the ability to deliver rich, dynamic web content, its relatively lightweight and its ease of use.
This panel discussion seeks to be a forum for the JS tricks we all have up our sleeves and how implementing them has made for better websites. It will be led by Tom Hickey and Paul Foster, two of Astek's developers who use JS everyday. They'll share some of Astek's stories about how it's been an integral part of many projects and why it will likely be a dominant programming language for years to come.
The Astek Academy is a program by which our team educates clients and the community about marketing and technology. We love the digital world and teaching people how to use it. Oh, and we like to make it fun because people don't come for PowerPoint slides.
The Think-n-Drink is our excuse to gather cool people together on the first Tuesday of every month, chat about a topic and consume a little vino while unwinding from a long day of work. Come to learn, network or simply hang out.

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST
Tom employs skills and experience in Web production, programming, Flash animation, and illustration to deliver a solid back-end structure for Astek's client initiatives. Especially in the realm of e-commerce, it is imperative that the data infrastructure is as thoroughly conceived and developed as the graphic and strategic elements. It is the foundation upon which the rest of the production deliverables reside and is pivotal in delivering a consistent end-user experience.
