Event Overview

This workshop will introduce the diversity in how to draw landscapes in fun & innovative ways! This course is meant to break all barriers of traditional landscape drawing and the intimidation factor that comes with drawing in pen.

As a professional illustrator traveling all over, landscape drawing has become my favorite subjects! When placing the scene of a landscape inside a shape that is considered non-traditional, it becomes more interesting and personal providing further meaning. For example drawing landscapes in a simple shape such as a diamond, triangle, or compass brings a new spin to the art. Even drawing the landscape in the reflection of a pair of sunglasses can bring more personality to an illustration.

This is what I want to emphasize through this workshop. Landscapes can be anything we want them to be. A made-up place, a place we have been to, or a place you've been to in your dreams, etc.

It is in thinking OUTSIDE the box that landscape drawing becomes interesting and different! I will teach the basics in how to shade and draw in pen introducing simple techniques that are easy to remember. Attendees I will be provided with their own packet of examples and styles to reference and take home with them in addition to their own set of supplies.

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST

My name is Rashelle Stetman, I am a Fine Artist based in Denver, CO. I graduated from Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design in 2014 with a BA in Fine Arts/Painting.

I absolutely love the feeling you get of creating something out of nothing. With an obsession of making ideas come to life, I wanted to witness this happen in other artists. I want to see how other artists ideas translate when picking up a pen or pencil.

Currently, I am working as a full-time Fine Artist//Commission Artist.
Some of the clients I have created for are actor Chad Michael Murray, Icelantic Skis, Tall T Productions, Superior Ink, YB Divided, etc. I am currently working with Blackbook Gallery in Denver, CO.
