Event Overview
Do you have the quarantine blues? Are your voice and body feeling stiff and shut down without an outlet for playful expression? Would you like to learn to sing and move from a place of self-inquiry, delight, and freedom with a deep and vibrant community, without ever leaving your living room?
Join Colorado vocal coaches Roy Willey and Amy Biondo for an afternoon Zoom workshop exploring the intersection of mindfulness with the voice, breath, and body.
Learn the practice of Contemplative Voice and Movement, an improvisational singing and moving meditation, and discover and celebrate your own authentic voice and movement as you practice over a “sound bed” of layered vocals created in the moment by Roy and Amy. The practice of sustained, improvisational singing and moving not only calms the nervous system, it grounds us in the present moment and connects us to our creative, intuitive selves.
In this workshop, you'll explore all of these practices from the comfort and privacy of your own home. All voices welcome, no prior experience necessary.

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST
Amy Biondo is a vocalist, composer, dancer, and music educator based in Lafayette, CO. She teaches workshops and private lessons for students of any level who want to move from fear and self-doubt to radiant confidence and power in their singing, so that they can reclaim and express their authentic voice in all aspects of life. Her performance experience spans diverse genres, including world, popular, jazz, musical theater, and improvisational music. You may have seen her with the Amy Biondo Ensemble, Los Bohemios, Milestone, or Betterfate Ensemble, among others. She holds a Master of Arts degree from Naropa University in Contemplative Psychotherapy; has trained extensively in music and improvisation with Art Lande, Rhiannon, Mark Miller, and others; and has been a meditation and yoga practitioner for over 20 years.
Roy Willey believes singing is everyone's birthright. As a musician specializing in vocal improvisation, his goal is to guide students past self-judgement and fear to connect with their inner music. His background as a Sound, Energy and Meditation Facilitator adds to his expertise in using the voice as a tool for mindfulness and healing. He's studied intensively with masters such as Bobby McFerrin, Rhiannon, Meredith Monk, Judi Vinar, and many others.
