Mac's Local Buys is a small family owned business. We came about simply from our own desire to eat healthy foods and our passion to support local farmers and producers. At our core, we are a local food aggregator with an emphasis on whole animal buys. Mac's Local Buys makes purchasing local, premium proteins for your family affordable. We organize and coordinate whole animal buys for groups of people. This not only provides a good variety of cuts/items in each share and the best price, it also happens to be what is best for the environment, the farmer and end user. In the end Mac's Local Buys, is just what is was in the beginning - a group of folks, working together with a common purpose, to eat healthier foods, while supporting our local community.
This is a really casual class focused mostly on how to cure bacon. So if you don't care about the process, it might not be for you. haha. He also shared the differences between how people take care of animals before slaughter and how it impacts the food you eat. He took it so far as a test taste between three kinds of bacon you can purchase and you can really tell a difference! Go early and get a burger and riplet fries and you won't be disappointed!
