Chris McKenzie of Mac's Local Buys will be teaching this very popular Bacon and Beer class. Simply put, everything is better with bacon. Bacon has all the best things going for it - quick cooking, great texture, smoky, salty and slightly sweet. If you’re a certified or self-proclaimed bacon-holic, this is the class for you. In this class, you will learn the differences between different types of bacon, the chef’s secret for bacon making, cooking and enjoy a bacon banquet and great local beer. In this class, Chris will show you how to turn pork belly into the most delicious bacon you have ever tasted. Learn about the curing and smoking process, taste amazing samples, pick the brains of this local bacon lover. Plus you'll get to enjoy a night at OSP Tap Haus, South County's newest craft beer hub.
Also...Immediately following our class please enjoy an intimate, acoustic show put on by one of St. Louis' favorite blues guitar players, Brian Curran!
*The class goes from 6-8pm and Brian Curran will play his acoustic set starting at 8pm. Tell your friends!

We enjoyed the class. lots of great bacon (and general bbq) tips. need to have more info on the fact that there will not be much to order or eat (so eat dinner first). one description mentioned bacon "banquet"... we got to sample 3 different types of bacon and had some dip and pretzels so the food part was a bit misleading. BUT overall it was great.

Although it was not really "beer and bacon" (it merely occurred in a place where beer is available), it was really a great class. Learned a ton about bacon, the process of making it, meat processing in general. Mac & team know a lot about meat and sustainable eating, and it was really fun! (Plus, good bacon!)
