Note: This is a multi-session event series. By purchasing the event package, you acknowledge that you can attend all event dates included below.Have you ever had a really great costume idea, but didn't know where to begin?
Have no fear, Abby Dorning and Andrea Standby are here!
As firm believers in repurposing clothing and finding new within the old, this class begins by popping tags at the thrift shop, and goes on to teach you basic sewing and alteration skills (machine and stitch). We will give you consultation and assistance over three class periods with two professional theatrical costume designers, who will help you to compile your most amazing Halloween (or cosplay) costume yet!
We will begin together at one big meeting, commiserate over our big ideas for the costumes, and then go hunting at a few local thrift stores! From there, we will divide into two groups of ten to meet the following Sundays and work on alterations, accessorizing, as well as finishing touches like make-up and hair!
Class dates are Sundays through October: the 9, 16, and 23.
All you have to bring is a design idea, and a few bucks to buy some pieces from the thrift store. We'll even provide class transportation!
