Celebrities, scientists, business owners, scholars, and everyone in between is hopping on the blogging bandwagon. Online content isn't just digital journaling anymore -- it's the key to creating your own virtual brand, whether it's in growing and harnessing community, representing your company or profession, or sharing a new voice with the world.
Our "blogging basics" series will cover four pertinent topics in blogging today. The class is targeted towards new bloggers or people in the very early stages of creating a blog, and will discuss basic topics such as blog types and how to create your first blog post, as well as more intermediate topics like social media and community management. We will even touch the ever-popular topic of monetization and how to bring a little extra cash with your blog.
Session 1 (Tues, 10/14): Setting up your blog: Platforms, layouts and what you need to know to start
Session 2 (10/21): Creating content and writing a post
Session 3 (10/28): Personal branding and social media
Session 4 (11/4): Monetization and outreach
The key to great blogging is practice, so students will be expected to come to the class with their laptops and one new article per week. They'll leave this class series with the start of a great blog and a basic understanding of blogging elements and techniques. Don't start a blog without attending this class first!
A laptop computer (preferably not a tablet), a great attitude that's ready for some fun!
All ages welcome

This was a wonderful class for a blogging beginner like me! Beth was an excellent teacher who took the time to understand where we all were at with skill level, and she spoke in terms we all could understand.
The world of blogging seems so overwhelming for beginners and this class opened my eyes to so many things. I now feel confident to start my blog and know I have learned the skills I need to make it a success.

My daughters enrolled me in this class as a Mother's Day gift and it was a gift and so much more. It didn't matter if you were brand new to blogging or seasoned, we all learned a lot from Beth. She gave us loads of resources and strategies to build an amazing blog while sharing the "what not to do's" along the way! If you don't sign up, you are missing a blessing. If you do sign up you are missing months of needless research and learning by trial and error. What are you waiting for?

Beth did an excellent job teaching this course. She was very organized and provided a lot of information at a good pace. I what I really enjoyed about the class is it covered all aspects of blogging and was relevant for someone just starting out to an individual with an established blog. Beth was great to work with and I really enjoyed the class!
