Cross-stitch is cool again! Learn this traditional craft in a fun and supportive environment.
I have been a cross-stitcher since I was a child, and I have been a professional cross-stitch artist and pattern designer for over 8 years. (https://www.etsy.com/shop/stephXstitch)
Cross-stitch is making a major comeback. It is a great way to give creative, customized gifts to friends and family. It is also a therapeutic, almost meditative hobby activity that can be done anywhere. You can embrace your sassy and subversive side or go for a more traditional stitch. Either way, you'll need a good foundation.
In this class, I will take you through the basics of cross stitch: reading the pattern, selecting materials, threading the needle, and of course, the stitching itself. I will provide all of the materials necessary for your first cross-stitch project and we will stitch it together. What you don't finish in class you can take home to complete in your own time.
You will get to choose from 6 different original stephXstitch patterns. (Chicago Flag, YAS, I Can't Even, Holy Balls, SSDGM and I Heart my Bike)
I will provide some snacks, and you can BYOB!
I will provide a full StephXstitch kit (worth $25): fabric, embroidery hoop, needle, embroidery thread, written instructions, handouts, and your pattern. There will also be scissors for you to use.

Such a fun class! Stephanie has a knack not only for making learning super fun, but also for making a group of strangers comfortable talking to each other. I had a blast at this event and have already bought materials to make this a long term hobby, I'm excited to work my way up to the Rosie the Riveter pattern!

I am now a cross-stitch addict thanks to Stephanie and her beginners class! The space was really nice and the perfect size for our class, the amount of time she gave us to learn and work was perfect, and I felt that the price of the class was well worth the value of learning a new skill AND having a piece to finish at home. I really, really enjoyed myself and would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a new, relaxing hobby!

I had a great time learning how to cross stich with Stephanie! She had great, fun patterns to choose from and broke the process down to ways that were easy to understand. It was also a great space for the class. I'm really happy with the 'I Can't Even' pattern that I was able to finish later that night and definitely plan on keeping up with this fun new hobby!

This class was so fun! It was super relaxed, but I also learned a lot and left with a new skill. Steph provided all the necessary supplies (and cookies!) and created a really non-intimidating environment. Her love of cross stitch is infectious!

Steph is a great teacher and fun to be around. If you're looking for an introduction to cross stitching, this is the perfect place to start. It was a non-intimidating, friendly atmosphere, supplies were included, and Steph really knows how to walk anyone through all the basics. I came on my own and had great time. But there were a few people who came as groups and also had a great time so this would be a fun thing to sign up for with a friend!

I loved this class! Stephanie was a great teacher, very energetic, positive, and helpful.
