Event Overview
This is demo class is an intro course to basic fermentation, featuring the popular fermented beverage Kombucha!
Instructor Greg Tefs will demonstrate the process for making kombucha at home and show you how to use it to make a fabulous healthy sparkling soda. He’ll discuss the basic science behind fermentation and show you the types of tea, sugars, flavoring options, and necessary equipment and supplies that you'll need for success.
Tasting samples will be provided as well as an optional Kombucha starter kit that includes: scoby, glass jar with Kombucha, and a recipe.
Limited street parking is available on Rosemont and Broadway but at that time of day it should be plentiful.

He brings proven culinary technique to a wide range of international cuisines. Chef Tefs believes in the locavore philosophies of reducing the distance from farm to table and using produce available in-season at peak flavor and freshness. His current fascination is healing through nutrition, especially the restorative powers of fermented foods.
