I enjoyed learning about wines from Joe. While he is not a sommelier, Joe lived abroad in Europe and studied in France (we know how the French love their wine). He has a good eye for teaching you about approachable wines you can buy at your local grocery store. My husband and I went to the class for a date night. I am a wine drinker and he is not. We were able to sample 10 wines under $10 with food pairings (fruit, cheese, bread, chocolate). We also learned a little bit about grapes, regions, and why wine tastes a certain way. I would definitely recommend this class if you are new to wine and want to figure out what type of wine you enjoy.

The teacher was not very prepared for the class and he showed up late which I see a very unprofessional. He also told us he wasn't an expert. He gave very generic and broad answers for direct questions that we had. The class also wasnt clear about the 20 dollar material charge on top of what we paid for the class. Overall I had fun in the class because of the people I went with, not because of a learning experience which was the goal of the class.

The one good thing about this class was the amount of wine we got to taste. It was good to taste so many back to back so that you can truly see the difference and determine which ones you like. However there were a few things that caught us by surprise, for example, somehow I missed that there was a $20 material fee when I originally signed up. Also the instructor showed up a little bit late and claimed he wasn't an expert in wine, but knew a lot about it. Therefore I feel like he couldn't really help us identify the taste and differentiate between ones as a true expert would have. Also, when we showed up he said the class was how to taste good wine for under $10, so all of the bottles were $10 are under. It wasn't bad it just didn't really match the description of the class.
