Agnes Policarpio, The Travel Mixologist
After many years of extensive hours behind the computer as a Creative Director, she found her virtual escape on lunch breaks perusing through travel websites while noshing on different ethnic dishes from Chicagoland’s diverse food scene. During her vacation time, she realized how important it is to get away on a vacation…“Travel motivates me to be a better person – personally and professionally...It helps me get a “fresh eye”! I see the beauty of different cultures inspiring me to think outside the box” Her addiction to travel along with her entrepreneurial spirit paved the way to Travel Blend, Inc. It was during her island hopping trip to her native home in the Philippines that she realized how both travel and food would play a major role in her destiny. The best pineapple she ever tasted grew from an island with volcanic soil. “I usually throw away the core but not with these pineapples...they were super sweet, amazingly tender and so juicy! Filipinos use the pineapple leaves to create a strong, white, silky fiber called Piña commonly used for formal attire, table linens, bags and mats. You can learn so much about a culture through food!” Agnes is delighted to share her fascination and knowledge from her travel experiences. She enjoys researching travel trends and handcrafting tour packages that will leave you excited and compelled to keep traveling...

My husband and I loved the menu for the "I love lavender dinner" hosted by Agnes. The food was delicious, especially the dessert and made with a lot of care and attention. There were also some helpful tips shared for how to use and garden lavender.
