Knitting Basics
11 Have Dabbled
Arts & DIY
Cool weather will soon be upon us, and both fashion and function call for snuggly warm hats, scarves, sweaters, and socks. Start now, and you'll be able to make a few holiday gifts, too!
This Dabble class, for absolute beginners, is a no-experience-necessary guide to knitting. Students will learn a few basic knitting terms, how to read a simple pattern, and, most importantly, how to actually knit and purl.
With this knowledge safely tucked away inside the brain, students will then have the opportunity to knit a simple project on their own. We'll only have time to make small swatches during class, but each student will go home with instructions for knitting a simple scarf in the patterns and textures we learned in class.
The class size is small, so Dabblers will able to see the instructor's (busy) hands. What are you waiting for? Let's get knitty with it!
All ages welcome

For substitute teacher Amy Kozy, knitting is less a hobby and more a strange compulsion she enjoys sharing with others. She had taught adults (through Dabble and elsewhere) and kids, and has knitted on trains and planes, in bars and in cars, and once while she was waiting for a police officer to write her a traffic ticket.
