Event Overview

Overdone. Underdone. Too big. Too small. Equal parts chewy and crunchy goodness, the perfect homemade cookie seems like a snack of mythical proportions. Ditch the store-bought dough and get ready to tackle the cookie monster.

In this class, we’ll unlock the magic to making an entire batch of consistently delicious cookies. We’ll begin with a quick overview of the necessary tools for creating cookie perfection. After that, we’ll craft the perfect oatmeal cookie dough base that gives you the confidence to experiment with various flavors and add-ins. We’ll bake our creations off and learn about the whens and whys of determining when cookies are “done.”

As we snack on our little jewels, we’ll round out the class with some tricks for storing cookies, freezing dough for later use, and how to use the perfect cookie as a base for other yummy confections.

Co-Teacher: Julie Keck. Julie is an independent filmmaker with a secret dream: to open a bakery. Yes, she's already designed the aprons she wants to wear; no, she doesn't know how to bake.
