Photography with Creative Vision
8 Have Dabbled
Arts & DIY
Photography has two sides we might say equates to the left and right sides of our brain: Technical and Creative. A technically correct photo isn't necessarily a creative, interesting or dramatic one. Technically correct photos may not hold your viewers attention as long as you'd like so let's take them to the next level and get creative!
In this highly interactive class, you will:
1. Progress your skills from photos that are "ok" or technically correct to more creative and dramatic photos;
2. Learn composition "rules" and when it may be better to break them;
3. And the foundations of most anything that involves design whether architecture or art and how to incorporate these into your photographs.
Who will most like to participate:
- New camera owners who have taken the "settings" workshops and ready for the next step
- Anyone convinced they don't have a creative bone in their body but enjoy capturing life around them
- Someone planning an upcoming trip / vacation who wants to do more than "click and go"
- Professional photographers who have felt stuck in a rut or having a creative block
- Where are my left-brained photographers??
- Novice, hobbyist, smartphone user, really all levels...
Please note: This is NOT a class to learn the settings on your camera.
This class will be a touch of Chicago tour, a lot of using your eyes and a LOT of fun playing with this tool you freeze-frame the world with!
Camera / smartphone camera, charged battery, memory card with available space (if appl)
All ages welcome

Before becoming Founder and Owner of Tour Through A Lens, a custom photography tour company, Teresa spent years planning and executing logistic details for meetings & conventions. She never thought she had a creative bone in her body...until she decided it was time to get serious about her photography. She is a self-taught photographer whose strength is visual design and composition. She's led groups of photographers on photo challenges and photo walks for several years now. To her, Chicago is one great visual scavenger hunt!
Teresa is an excellent teacher. I am familiar with the Chicagoland area but Teresa was able to make me see the sights in a whole new light. She is well versed on the areas she tours and very insightful. I personally find her down to Earth, personal approach to be quite refreshing. She actually took the time and patience to anticipate the needs of everyone in our party. She would be an excellent guide and photography instructor to anyone who is new, just visiting or is familiar with the area (like myself).
