Event Overview

Summer's coming to a close, but your home garden is overflowing a'pleanty! What do you do with all the veggies you can't sell or give away? You put on your can-do attitude and get preserve-savvy, that's what!

Students will learn the basic concepts of canning in this introductory Dabble class. We'll learn the the in's and out's of the canning process, the proper safety procedures to ensure your food stays properly preserved and the equipment and terminology required to be successful. Decipher what produce can and cannot be canned, the optimum stage of the produce's life in which to can, brand preferences for a reliable can every time and even ways to use your newly canned food months down the line.

Then we'll get a live demo on the canning process, and all students will walk away with a clearer picture of the canning timeline from start to finish, and with a handful of canning recipes to get you started.

Q&A session will follow class, so bring your burning questions and get all your canning queries answered! We'll see you there ... hope you can make it.
