Event Overview

This class will teach you how to transform ordinary household containers from potential waste to beautiful planters that will add texture and charm to your indoor and outdoor spaces. Concrete pots are a durable and eco-friendly way to display your greenery in style!

This class will be hands-on from start to finish. Students will learn the basics of casting concrete. They will then create their own cement and concrete pots using forms of their choosing as well as colorants and decorative aggregate.

Take-home materials will be provided to add finishing touches once the planters are cured. Students will leave with one or two of their own pots, depending on form size and time available.

Students are welcome to bring their own containers (for example: juice or water containers, yogurt tubs, etc) or to use ones we provide.

Class is BYOB.

Location is in Wicker Park about three blocks from the Damen Blue Line stop. Street parking is free and non-permit.

Two buddies and I decided to attend this class on a whim, and we had the most rockin' (...haha) time. Seriously, though- Noelle and Chris are star instructors, both are incredibly kind and welcoming. Clear instruction, plenty of material, and lots of support were given to participants while making the lovely planters, which will soon become the highlights of my bedroom desk. I highly recommend taking a class with them!

this married dynamic duo thought of everything! well planned class and already set up to receive participants although i arrived 30 minutes early. many planter options; optimal class size, easy, breezy fun.

I've been wanting to try making concrete planters for a long time, and this gave me an excuse to get off my butt and try them! I had a blast and finally have something to make that incorporates my grandmother's broken china! The teachers and location were friendly and informative. What a joyful time.

A fantastic class-Noelle and Chris passed on their knowledge of concrete so that we could make awesome concrete pots of our own design !! It was a great time and I met some nice people. I plan on doing another class with them.

This class was FANTASTIC! Noelle and Chris are true DIY-ers that are kind enough to share their learned expertise with the rest of us. The class was just small enough to have a great time and also get everything done with tons of help from the teachers. They were both very friendly and super helpful with every question. I'm so excited to see how my planters/pots turned out in a couple of days.

Also, they were meticulously prepared with everything that you'd need to not only make your pot, but also get it home after class. I'm looking forward to seeing if they have more classes in the future.
