Event Overview

Get ready to engage your whole brain and tap into your creativity in a new way!
In this engaging pottery session, you will explore the sensory aspects of clay and create experimental sculptures. The focus is on the process rather than the end!
Experiment with the potential of clay to work through personal challenges and gain new insights.
Connect with yourself, others, and your creative process in a profound way.
Expect to leave with a deeper sense of self-understanding and confidence to navigate your next steps.
While there is no pressure to create a perfect piece, if you like your sculptures, you'll be able to have them fired and glazed (for a small fee).
Nervous about your skill level? Don't worry - this class is for all levels, including beginners.

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST

Meet the team behind Coaching With Clay!

Heather McQueen is an accomplished ceramic artist, working primarily in the low-fire range. Her work varies from drums and sculptural vessels to utilitarian, country-style tableware. She enjoys inspiring others through her work, from one-on-one lessons to Visiting Artist Residencies. She has been hosting boutique-style studio sessions on Dabble since 2014.
Heather's claywork has been published ("From Mud to Music", "500 Raku") and featured in a nationally televised promo (US Cellular). She is a graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and maintains an independent ceramic studio in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood.

Laura Swartzbaugh, CEO of Laura Scout Coaching, helps people shut up their inner critic and build a life they actually want. Her superpowers include her intuitive, lightning-quick coaching and her belief that self trust can save the world. She’s on a mission to help people say goodbye to the lives they think they should have and create the ones they authentically desire. Because human brains are like puppies (they need clear, firm, & loving guidance), she teaches simple tools based on neuroplasticity to change habitual thinking. Change is much easier when your inner chatter is quiet & you’ve created new ways of thinking & feeling. After just a single session, clients feel empowered, motivated, and find themselves taking concrete action even if they’ve felt stalled for months.
