Event Overview
In this 2 hour group participants will take a moment for themselves and explore the benefits of art and creativity. In this open studio format, participants will be encouraged to try a wide range of materials to facilitate a deeper understanding of their creative process.
The instructor will provide support, art interventions/techniques and guidance as the participants engage in the art making process. This group is designed to promote relaxation and increase connection to self & others through the creative process. Open to anyone, no art making experience required!
Art making activities include but are not limited to wish stones, affirmation cards, mixed media collages, book page poems, matchbox art, etc.

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST
Caroline Tye, ATR, Owner, is an artist, educator and art therapist. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Art Education from Illinois College, however her passionate beliefs in the power of creativity lead her to discover the continuing art therapy program at Northwestern University. She completed the program, but wanted to continue to further her knowledge so she obtained a Master's in Art Therapy with an emphasis in Counseling at Mount Mary University. Her philosophy and belief is that art and creativity can promote transformation, healing, growth and resilience.

Fun class - nice art studio with lots of supplies. Teacher provided a great balance of instruction and freedom for our individual projects. She has a lot of energy and passion for art and that created a comfortable and enjoyable (with snacks!) environment for the class.
