Event Overview
Drink like an emperor and taste China's MOST legendary green teas!!!
Green tea possesses centuries of history and cultural tradition. In this class, we'll taste, smell, and learn about China's most famous varieties. Often referred to as Imperial "Tribute" teas, ancient China's most coveted leaves were reserved solely for the benefit of the royal court. Tang, Ming, Qing, and Song Dynasty emperors demanded the finest green teas in the land, and now you have the opportunity to enjoy those same teas...
This class will be very interesting and informative for new tea drinkers and connoisseurs alike... It is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the world's finest green teas from China - the country that produces AND drinks more than the rest of the world combined. The format will be an open dialogue of questions and group participation in the tasting experience.
Specific teas included with this tasting are: Xihu Longjing ("Dragonwell"), Anji Baicha ("White Jade"), Taiping Houkui ("Monkey King"), Huangshan Maofeng ("Yellow Mountain Buds"), Biluo Chun ("Green Snail Spring"), Zhu Ye Qing ("Bamboo Shoots"), and Luian Guapian ("Melon Seeds").
These green teas are unrivaled in flavor, history, legend, and prestige... Please join us on this journey! Attendees will walk away with a sample of their favorite tea, as well as a much more thorough understanding of green tea, storage, preparation, sourcing, and much more!
