Introduction to Photoshop
5 Have Dabbled
Arts & DIY
Dip your toes into Photoshop with this introductory course on Adobe's most popular design program. Learn the ins-and-outs of the program's controls, panels, and applications.
As a group, we will go through the program's toolbars, understand the layers panel, and manipulate the same set of photography. All of us will be on the same page, but there will be plenty of room for deviation and an injection of your own personal style (that's what this is all about, isn't it?).
By the time you leave the room, you should know what you want to learn next. You'll have a solid understanding of the way Photoshop works, which tools do what, and how to create a basic composition using photos and artwork. I'd like if you left this class asking yourself, "what else can these tools be used for?" "How do I create a .gif?" "Can I scan and color artwork in Photoshop?" Because knowing the basics is a pretty stellar gateway into so much more.
Computers and Adobe Photoshop are not provided, but you can grab a free trial on Adobe's website: http://www.adobe.com/downloads.html
No experience necessary, though it is recommended you have a working knowledge of your computer's folders and desktop. You must have your software downloaded, installed, and ready to go by the time the class begins. We will not take any time for technical support.
