Event Overview
For centuries, the people of Japan annually celebrate the tradition of Tanabata, or the Star Festival, by writing their wishes on colorful paper streamers and hanging them on bamboo branches for the universe to answer. In a similar fashion, each Nettelhorst student has tied a piece of fabric to fence as a tangible display of their intentions to create a better place in which to live and play.
This year, all the students have also posted notes on the trees expressing their hopes and wishes.
In celebration of the National Week of Making, Nettelhorst invites you to add your own hope note to the trees surrounding the school.
To kick off the week, join Dabble Cares, Pete Hill of Hands-on-Training, and Catalyze Chicago as the Nettelhorst Hope Tree project evolves into Operation Hope Drops, a super cool, super secret, earth-friendly art installation. All details will be revealed at the workshop. Trust us. It's gonna be awesome!
