Event Overview

New to canning? This class will lead you through the basics of water-bath canning.

Let's put up some SALSA!

We will start with a discussion of water-bath canning as we are enjoying a preview of the SALSA that you will able to serve to your family and friends. We will learn two easy Rick Bayless roasted salsa recipes and process them for you to take home.

You will go home with: one of each
8oz jar of roasted jalapeno-tomato salsa w/cilantro
8oz jar of roasted tomatillo salsa w/serranos, roasted onion and cilantro

We will conclude with some label and decorating ideas and of course, recipes and ideas about using your SALSA stash!

What to Bring

If you like, bring an apron.

    This class was fantastic. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the teachings is very hands on. I left feeling confident that I could replicate the canning in my own home, by myself. Also, the salsa was delicious and I'm super jazzed to have a few jars saved for later.

    Patti is a wonderful teacher! The salsa class was my second class with her and she did a great job of explaining the process for us "laymen" as well as walking us through all of the steps, from prep to finish. The price of the course is reasonable, especially since it includes all of the material and your own canned goods to take home. Many recipes were provided as well as other resources to find more recipes, explanations of canning, and ways to find supplies.
