Event Overview
Love to write but at a lost of where to start? This class will teach you the ins and outs of writing a short story, how to brainstorm ideas before had, and what elements to include. Characters, outlining, structure, themes and dialogue are some of the many items covered.
Classical short stories will be discussed in the class as well that illustrate these elements. At the end of class, the goal is to have written one story. Students will have the opportunity to read their stories out loud and help each other with feedback.

Marie graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a Major in English - concentration Fiction Writing, and has experience writing in multiple mediums including poetry, art, and language. She has published numerous short stories for college publications, as well as a poetry book.
