Event Overview

Have you ever liked the look of those whiskey or beer flights at your favorite bar? Now you can make your own and take it home with you! This class will walk you through the basic woodworking techniques and tools to create your own flight board. Wood, glasses and beer for a class toast will be provided. Basic skills of using the drill press, band saw, hand tools and wood finishing will be taught. No prior woodworking knowledge required.

An artist, educator, and advocate of hands-on learning and sustainability, Heather Mullins works primarily with the concept of re-use by building functional products, furniture, and sculptural and design installations. Heather has years of hands-on teaching experience including managing and teaching in the wood and metal shop at the School of the Art institute of Chicago, adjunct teaching at Columbia College Chicago, teaching developmentally disabled adults, and teaching workshops and classes in a number of community centers and spaces in Denver and Chicago. Heather currently lives in Denver, CO.
