Have you ever wondered how Earl Grey is made, or how they get the jasmine into Jasmine Tea?
Our certified Tea Specialist will guide you through the process of how flavor is added to teas, from essential oils to flowers to dried fruit! The blending process is a careful science, and you'll learn how the many wonderful varieties of tea are crafted by tea artisans. You'll also get to taste a selection of flavored teas, such as Earl Grey and our famous Naughty Vicar. Best of all, you get to take home two ounces of your own customized blend!
You'll leave this class knowing everything you could want to know about tea blends, and how to create your own tea! Additionally, there will be 10% off all loose leaf tea, teapots, and tea accessories that evening.

I am a British expat running a tea merchant and cafe based in St. Louis, Missouri. I have been drinking tea since I was a child but it wasn't until I became an adult that I discovered that tea wasn't just about black tea in a teabag. For the past seven years I have operated The London Tea Room, a business started by my parents, and my love for tea has only grown. I have been teaching tea education classes for the past four years, and am certified as a Tea Specialist by the World Tea Academy. I am presently working on receiving official certification as a Tea Sommelier.

This was a really fun class! Can’t wait to taste my personal tea blend! She was very helpful in assisting us choose the best base tea to go with the flavors we wanted. Especially since my experience is pretty limited to tea bags and pre-mixed blends!

Loved this class! It was an opportunity to play Mad Scientist and create my own tea blend. Jackie James did a great job of helping us understand the basics of tea blending and steering us away from disaster. It was fun to hear the mixes and blends from everyone in the class and some of the clever names for them.

Such a fun an interesting class! The instructor was so knowledgeable, and created a relaxed and comfortable environment, while keeping everything very organized. I definitely plan to take another class in the future.

I enjoyed the exci-teaing lessons on tea and the different bases from black to oolong to green. The taste testing of the different black tea blends of The London Tea Room. I’m glad I got some of the Naughty Vicar to take home with my own “Gingers are the Best” blend I was able to make at the class.

Fun time gathering with other people who also had an interest in tea blending. Information and hands on tea blending were great but I liked the "stories" of the creation of the tea blends the best. Hopefully I can take another class that coincides when I am in St Louis again!

We had samples to examine and smell so we could then decide what we wanted to blend. We went home with a little bag of our own special blends.
