Event Overview

Calling all seasoned actors, new actors and any non-actors looking to try something new!

This fun scene study class focuses on contemporary dramatic literature. You will be paired up with another student and will be given a scene to study together for this four-class series. Each acting pair will perform their scene every class and receive feedback from Susan. All will be active participants by watching and observing others perform and receive feedback.

You will learn:
> Scene study basics
> Character study
> Observation skills
> Become familiar with some great contemporary plays!

You will walk away with some new material, new friends, and confidence as an actor!

Each class meets Saturdays 2-4 pm on the following dates:

April 19
April 26

Susan has been involved in acting for 28 years. She has worked as an actor in Chicago and Los Angeles. She holds a B.A. in Performance from Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts. She has studied acting with the Moscow Art Theatre at the American Repertory Theatre of Harvard University, The Theatre School of DePaul University, Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts, Interlochen Arts Camp in Michigan and Steve Helgoth in Los Angeles. Susan is a classically trained singer and dancer versed in several world dances including West African, Caribbean and Flamenco. Theatre credits include The Fever, Shelter, The Visit, The House of Bernarda Alba, To Kill a Mockingbird and The Glass Menagerie. She has been training teachers and teaching acting and music to both adults and children on and off for 17 years.
