Event Overview

Go beyond bicycle maintenance...build an entire bike! Students will build a bicycle from the frame up with a group of up to 4 people, along with one of our skilled mechanics. You and three other people will take a bicycle frame and 30+ parts and turn it all into a fully-functioning and ridable bicycle in less than 2 hours.

All you need to bring is a willingness to bust knuckles, get greasy, and make some new friends. Heritage supplies the frames, parts, and knowledgeable staff.

Feel free to bring your own beverages.

What to Bring

I learned a lot in this course. The time flew by. Definitely recommend to anyone who wants a deeper understanding of how their bicycle is put together. Makes you appreciate bike repair professionals. Very cool shop, too.

I know little to nothingness about bikes. This class took things to the basics to learn what each part does. It has a lot of hands-on experience and you can ask as many questions as you'd like (in fact, they are encouraged)! I feel more comfortable approaching my bike with repairs and knowing what part plays what in the bike. I greatly recommend!

This was a truly excellent class. The teacher had a great combination of being very knowledgeable in the subject area while also helping everyone to succeed in a friendly and fun way. He gave awesome demonstrations and instructions and we all felt so accomplished at the end! You could tell the well-planned and thought-out lesson was made by people passionate about what they do.
I would recommend it to anyone with interest in not only bikes/biking but also tools, mechanics, and building things in general. You get lots of useful advice and new knowledge about bike maintenance, management, and mechanics against the backdrop of the fun group task. You may never have plans to build a bike of your own, or even be no more than a fair weather biker, but there is so much more to take away from the experience. Great for a group of friends wanting to do something together, or, I imagine, meeting new people with common interests.

Great experience, learned a lot in a short period of time. I feel confident in building a bike from the frame up now.
